Speakers

Dr. Chris Bailey, PhD, CSCS, CPT

Dr. Chris Bailey is currently in his first year as an assistant professor of Exercise Science at LaGrange College in Georgia, USA. He also serves as the coordinator of the Sport Performance Enhancement, Education and Development (SPEED) Center at LaGrange College. He works primarily with baseball and softball, but athletes from the sports of the basketball, cross-country, football, lacrosse and volleyball also take part in athlete testing, nutrition education, and training in the SPEED Center.

Before coming to LaGrange College, he completed his PhD in Sport Physiology and Performance at East Tennessee State University. He has also previously worked as a strength and conditioning coach in the San Diego Padres baseball organization. His research focuses on force production/bilateral strength asymmetry and athlete monitoring for improved performance. He is currently serving as a state advisory board member for the NSCA, but is also active in ACSM and ISBS.

Dr. Kimi Sato

Dr. Kimitake (Kimi) Sato, Ph.D. is entering his 4th year as a faculty member in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the East Tennessee State University (ETSU).  Dr. Sato is also an adjunct faculty for ETSU designated Olympic Training Site to train future and current Olympians for Weightlifting, Canoe/Kayak, and Bobsled & Skeleton. His main duty as a sport biomechanist is to conduct periodic tests for athlete monitoring purposes.

Dr. Sato is currently an active member of NSCA, ISBS, and ACSM, and a board member of ISBS (2013-15 term), and has served as a chair of organizing committee for 2014 ISBS conference.  Prior to coming to ETSU, Dr. Sato was a biomechanics lecturer for the Kinesiology program at Arizona State University and spent time at USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Dr. Silvio Lorenzetti

Silvio Lorenzetti studied physics, mathematics and astronomy at the University of Bern including an exchange term at the Strathclyde University, Glasgow (1995-2000). He completed the practical specialized education fitness at ETH. He is a Senior Scientist at the Institute for Biomechanics, ETH Zurich, leads the Sports Biomechanics Group and lectures in dynamics and movement / sports biomechanics at bachelor and master level in Health Sciences and Technology. His research interests are the load conditions of the entire body and joints during movement and sports. He is especially interested in the field of loading in strength and conditioning, sitting behavior and sports equipment. He is an expert on the board of research of the BASPO (Bundesamt für Sport) and is a member of the board of Directors of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS).

Ramona Häberle

Ramona Häberle is a master student of Health Sciences and Technology with a focus on biomechanics at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland. She just completed an internship at the Institute for Biomechanics, ETH Zurich, in which she analysed the kinetics and kinematics of the hyperextension strengthening exercise. Besides her interest in movements from a biomechanical point of view, she is also interested in optimizing movement patterns by coaching gymnastics.
